Performance
Empirical Bioscience’s CLEANTaq HotStart DNA Polymerase is highly purified and is free of Bacterial DNA and of nonspecific endo or exonucleases.
The product is manufactured under the requirements of ISO13485 and is subject to extensive quality control testing to drastically reduce the risk of DNA contaminates in the PCR reagents for commercial supply.
The Taq DNA Polymerase gene is isolated from Thermus aquaticus YT1 and expressed in E.coli. The recombinant Taq DNA Polymerase shows identical characteristics to native Taq from Thermus aquaticus. The enzyme consists of a single polypeptide with a molecular weight of 94 kDa, and will synthesize DNA products having dA overhangs on the 3’ ends.
Manufactured under stringent quality control using proprietary materials and processes DNA Free Taq is free from detectable bacterial DNA.
This enzyme is an ideal use in for PCR-based applications that require the high sensitivity without false-positives from reagent-borne contaminants.

Empirical’s Taq DNA Polymerase offers consistent activity from lot-to-lot. Three independent lots were compared using PCR reactions that produce a 1kb amplicon from E. coli DNA. Empirical’s Taq DNA Polymerase was added at 2.5, 1.25, 0.625 and 0.3125 units per reaction.
